CJEN Becomes Academic Partner for 32nd AMIC Annual International Conference 2026 in Manila

The Communication and Journalism Education Network (CJEN) Bangladesh has become an academic partner for the 32nd Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) Annual International Conference 2026, scheduled for November 5–7 in Manila, Philippines.

The conference, themed “Public Trust, Public Voice: The Role of Communication in Public Governance,” will bring together communication and media scholars, journalism educators, industry practitioners, and other stakeholders to discuss emerging issues and challenges in communication, journalism, and public governance. The three-day event will explore best practices, emerging trends, and the role of communication in strengthening public trust, public participation, and accountable governance.

As an academic partner, CJEN will contribute to strengthening connections between Bangladesh’s media and communication academic community and the wider Asian and international scholarly networks. The partnership also reflects CJEN’s continuing commitment to promoting research, academic exchange, professional collaboration, and innovation in journalism and communication education.

Approximately nine CJEN members from various public and private universities across Bangladesh are planning to participate in the conference. Their anticipated participation will provide opportunities to engage with international scholars and practitioners, exchange research and teaching experiences, and explore potential collaborations with institutions and colleagues from across the region.

The partnership also builds on an existing relationship between CJEN and AMIC. AMIC Secretary General Ramon Tuazon delivered the keynote address at the 10th CJEN Conference, held on October 24–25, 2025, at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) in Dhaka. His participation helped strengthen the academic ties between the two organisations and underscored the importance of regional collaboration in advancing journalism and communication education.

CJEN’s participation in the 32nd AMIC Annual International Conference is expected to further expand these connections and create opportunities for Bangladesh’s media and communication academics to contribute to regional conversations on public trust, responsible communication, journalism, and governance.
