The Communication and Journalism Educators’ Network (CJEN) is pleased to announce a valuable opportunity for its Executive Committee members through the DW Akademie under the Journalism of the Future Asia program.
DW Akademie is offering a Travel Grant to support CJEN Executive Committee members in Bangladesh who have been accepted as speakers or panelists at regional or international conferences taking place in 2026. The initiative aims to strengthen the presence of media development professionals and academicians from Asia in global conversations and to enhance access to relevant international platforms. There are two to three grants available.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a current member of the CJEN Executive Committee
- Be teaching Journalism, Communication, or Media Studies at a public or private university in Bangladesh
- Have confirmed participation as a speaker, presenter or panelist at a regional or international conference in 2026
- Present on topics aligned with the Journalism of the Future Asia program, including:
- AI in Media
- Media Technology and Innovation
- Media Development
- Media Ethics
- Media Viability
- Media Education
- Academic Research on Journalism and Media
- Be unable to cover travel costs personally (no proof required)
What the Grant Covers
The grant includes:
- International flight
- Hotel accommodation
Flights and accommodation will be booked directly by DW Akademie in coordination with the selected grantee. No additional costs are covered.
Application Requirements
Interested members must submit:
- A letter or email from the conference organizers confirming their participation as a speaker or panelist.
- A short email explaining how their presentation connects to the themes of the Journalism of the Future Asia program.
