The Fojo Media Institute at Linnaeus University, Sweden, in partnership with the Communication and Journalism Education Network (CJEN) Bangladesh, has announced an open call for Bangladeshi universities to apply for the Women Media Leaders of Tomorrow (WMLT) Initiative (Second Round). The initiative is part of the EU-funded AGILE Programme and will be implemented in Spring 2026.
The WMLT initiative aims to prepare final-year female journalism students for future leadership roles in the media sector through a hands-on management and leadership course. Following a competitive selection process, three universities in Bangladesh will be selected to participate.
Each selected university will receive a grant of €3,400 to support course delivery and related activities. Participating students will benefit from in-person leadership training delivered by an international media leadership expert, certification from Fojo Media Institute/Linnaeus University, and access to the WMLT alumni network.
Eligible applicants include media, communication, and journalism departments of accredited Bangladeshi universities with committed faculty members and motivated final-year female students. Previous recipients of the WMLT grant are not eligible to apply.
The application deadline is 28 February 2026, and extensions will not be granted.
