Fourth Networking Conference Goes Online Amid Pandemic

27-28 August 2021.  Dr. Murad Hassan MP, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, inaugurated the two-day online networking conference as chief guest. Vice Chancellor Dr. Farzana Islam served as the guest of honor while Ajker Patrika Editor Prof. Dr. Golam Rahman and Faculty of Arts and Humanities Dean Dr. Mozammel Hoque were the special guests.  Michael Karhausen (DW Asia and Europe department head) and Hannah Schempf (Press Attaché of the German Embassy in Dhaka) also spoke during the inaugural function.  A number of sessions followed where top academics and practitioners in the country discussed the most pressing issues surrounding the educational and professional aspects of journalism. The conference theme was: News Media in Bangladesh under COVID-19: Role of State and Media Educators.  Associate Professor Ameena Islam was the convener of the conference.
