The Communication and Journalism Educators’ Network (CJEN) Bangladesh, in partnership with Asia Centre, is inviting applications from Bangladeshi universities to become in-country partners for the Digital Security Training 2025/26 (DST 2025/26). Supported by Google, the programme aims to equip high-risk individuals and digitally vulnerable groups with the skills and tools to safeguard their online presence.
Asia Centre, a civil society research institute with Special Consultative Status at the United Nations ECOSOC, will deliver the training in Dhaka from 10–14 November 2025. Two types of sessions will be offered: Digital Security Training for End-Beneficiaries (DST-EB) and Training of Trainers (DST-ToT). Each day will feature two 90-minute DST-EB sessions and one 120-minute ToT session. While the end-beneficiary sessions are open to students and the general public, faculty and senior students are encouraged to attend the ToT to cascade the training to their own networks.
Asia Centre will provide the training curriculum, master trainers, and post-training support. In-country partners will be responsible for hosting the sessions, recruiting participants, and managing local logistics.
Eligible applicants are full-time faculty members from media, communication, or journalism departments of accredited Bangladeshi universities in Dhaka. Applications, endorsed by the applicant’s Head of Department or Dean, must include a preferred training date, CV, and be submitted by 31 August 2025 to Prof. Dr. Jude William Genilo at jude.genilo@ulab.edu.bd.
For more details, interested faculty are encouraged to contact Prof. Genilo or visit the CJEN network communications.
