Four private universities in Dhaka, through the facilitation of CJEN Bangladesh, collaborated with Asia Centre and Google in November 2025 to conduct a series of Digital Security Training sessions aimed at strengthening the resilience of high-risk users and digitally vulnerable groups. The initiative, part of Asia Centre’s regional program supported by Google, focused on equipping participants with practical skills to navigate online threats and safeguard their digital well-being.
The workshops targeted a wide range of at-risk communities, including women, youth, the elderly, people with disabilities, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), LGBTIQ+ groups, social figures, and micro-influencers. Through the sessions, participants learned essential strategies for protecting their information, identifying online risks, and enhancing their overall digital safety practices.
The training sessions were facilitated by Sanjay Gathia, Program Manager at Asia Centre, who guided participants through hands-on exercises, real-world case examples, and tools to strengthen their online security posture.
The participating institutions and dates were as follows:
- State University of Bangladesh (SUB) – November 10 (morning)
- University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), GED Department – November 10 (afternoon)
- ULAB, CSE Department (Online Session) – November 13
- American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) – November 14
- Daffodil International University (DIU) – November 16
The initiative reflects a growing recognition of the need for accessible and community-focused approaches to digital safety. With online threats becoming increasingly sophisticated, such collaborative efforts play a crucial role in ensuring that vulnerable users are not left behind in the digital age.
