CJEN Invites Proposals to Host the 11th Annual Conference in 2026

The Communication and Journalism Educators’ Network (CJEN) Bangladesh, in collaboration with Deutsche Welle Akademie, has issued a call for proposals from universities and academic departments to host the 11th CJEN Annual Conference, anticipated to take place in October or November 2026. The CJEN Annual Conference has grown into an important national platform that brings together educators, researchers, and media practitioners to exchange ideas, share research, and discuss developments in media, journalism, and communication education in Bangladesh. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and research presentations, the conference promotes collaboration and innovation among academic institutions and the media sector.

CJEN welcomes proposals from individual departments within universities as well as joint proposals from two or more academic institutions with complementary strengths. Institutions interested in hosting the conference are invited to submit a comprehensive proposal outlining the conference theme, institutional capacity, organizing team, tentative program, sponsorship strategy, participation mode, and financial plan. The proposed conference theme should address current trends, challenges, and opportunities in communication and journalism education, and align with CJEN’s mission of advancing pedagogy, research, and innovation in media studies in Bangladesh.

Proposals should also highlight the hosting institution’s facilities and logistical capabilities, provide profiles of the convener and organizing team, outline potential corporate sponsorships or media partnerships, and include a financial plan demonstrating institutional commitment, including counterpart funding or sponsorships covering at least 30 percent of the proposed budget.

All proposals will be reviewed by select members of the CJEN Executive Committee together with DW Akademie Bangladesh, based on their alignment with CJEN’s mission, feasibility, and potential impact. The deadline for submission of proposals is 31 March 2026. Proposals should be sent to dw-akademie.bangladesh@dw.com.

The selected host institution or institutions will be announced before the end of April 2026.

CJEN looks forward to collaborating with academic partners across Bangladesh to organize another impactful conference that will continue to strengthen communication, journalism, and media education in the country.
