CJEN Bangladesh Forms Executive Committee

The Communication and Journalism Educators’ Network (CJEN) Bangladesh has announced the formation of its new Executive Committee as part of an initiative to enhance the network’s sustainability and functionality. This move comes at a crucial time as the country undergoes significant transitions, emphasizing the need for strong media education and knowledge co-creation.  The initiative, supported by Deutsche Welle (DW) Akademie, aimed to develop a comprehensive sustainability plan and reactivate CJEN’s communication channels. The committee, comprising leading educators from various universities, will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of journalism and communication education in Bangladesh. The first meeting was held on October 18, 2024.

CJEN Bangladesh founder Professor Dr. Jude William Genilo and DW Akademie consultant Susanne Glaeser have been entrusted with leading this initiative. With her expertise in organizational development and media-enhanced teaching, Glaeser will provide strategic guidance to ensure the project’s success.  The key responsibilities of the Executive Committee were as follows: (1) Develop a strategic plan for CJEN’s long-term sustainability; (2) Reactivate and maintain CJEN’s communication platforms; and (3) Collaborate with key stakeholders to implement the sustainability framework.
