The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) will be the host institution for the upcoming Communication and Journalism Educators’ Network (CJEN) Bangladesh networking conference, scheduled for the end of October 2025. Priya Esselborn, Project Lead Bangladesh at Deutsche Welle (DW) Akademie, made the announcement at the closing session of the CJEN Strategic Development Plan Culminating Workshop held on 11 April 2025.
The CJEN conference, an annual gathering of communication and journalism educators, serves as a vital platform for academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and advancement of media pedagogy in Bangladesh. In a continued effort to promote innovation and inclusive participation, CJEN has issued a Call for Proposals for academic institutions interested in hosting the next iteration of the conference.
Interested institutions submitted their comprehensive proposals by 30 March 2025. Proposals should clearly outline the proposed conference theme, institutional commitment, program structure, team capacity, and financial planning. Both individual universities and collaborative proposals between multiple institutions are encouraged to apply. In her announcement, Esselborn mentioned that the “AIUB proposal was very impressive and ticks all the boxes.”
Leading the organizing efforts at AIUB is Ms. Rani Ellen V. Ramos, Head of the Department of Media and Mass Communication (MMC) and convener of the 2025 CJEN conference. Ms. Ramos, who leads AIUB’s Television Production and Animation track, brings a robust background in animation, television production, and media education.
